California is pleased to partner with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency under the Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) Program in our shared fight against the climate crisis. California has developed a Priority Climate Action Plan (submitted in March 2024), and will develop a Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (by December 2025), and a Status Report (by mid-2027). For each, California State agencies is leveraging and building upon the State's substantial climate planning work, such as the 2022 Scoping Plan Update and other emerging climate and clean energy reports currently being developed. In addition, the State will rely on the unique climate contributions of partners such as tribal nations located within California, metropolitan statistical areas, cities, air districts, low-income and disadvantaged communities, and the public. California will also look to pair CPRG funding with other potential federal funding sources made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and other legislation.
More about this program
Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP)
California is now in the process of developing our Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP) under the U.S. EPA’s CPRG Program. This plan builds off the State’s substantial climate efforts and will further help California achieve carbon neutrality by 2045.
An integral part of developing California’s CCAP is hearing from you regarding your climate concerns, and opinions on climate solutions and actions all Californians can take to fight climate change.
