Guidelines
Large Spark-Ignited Engine/Equipment (Less Than or Equal To 1 Liter) Evaporative Certification
LSIE ≤1 Liter regulations incorporate by reference the Small Off-Road Engine and Equipment certification and approval procedures. As a result, the evaporative certification procedures for 2011 and Later LSIE ≤1 Liter are the same as those for Small Off-Road Engines and Equipment (except Small Production Volume Tank Exemption). The following are the relevant SORE documents:
- Guidelines for Evaporative Certification of 2006 and Later Small Off-Road Engine/Equipment
- TP-901 ~ Test Procedure for Determining Permeation Emissions from Small Off-Road Engine Equipment Fuel Tanks
- TP-902 ~ Test Procedure for Determining Diurnal Evaporative Emissions from Small Off-Road Engines
- CP-901 ~ Certification And Approval Procedures for Small Off-Road Engine Fuel Tanks
- CP-902 ~ Certification And Approval Procedures for Evaporative Emission Control Systems
For Model Year 2020 and Later
- Evaporative Certification Form (updated May 30, 2019)
- LSIE Evaporative ≤ 1L Model Summary Excel Template (updated November 12, 2020)
- Bond Worksheet for LSIE ≤1L Evaporative Certification
- Evaporative Certification Averaging and Banking Credit Worksheet Form
- SORE/LSIE ≤1 Liter Evaporative Certification FAQ's
