SACRAMENTO – The Air Resources Board (ARB) will hold public forums on the proposed national ambient air quality standards for ozone and particulate matter. The first forum will be held in El Monte on January 16 and the second in Sacramento on January 17. The following are the locations and times:

ARB staff will provide a brief overview of the proposed standards and the implications those changes may have on California.
Felicia Marcus, Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) Director, Region IX, will make a presentation at the El Monte meeting and Dave Howecamp, EPA Region IX Chief Air Officer, is the representative at the Sacramento forum. Specifically, the USEPA representatives will discuss the scientific studies and processes used to review its health-based air quality standards.
These forums will provide the public with an opportunity to comment on the proposed EPA standards.
