Nan Hoon, Inc. Case Settles for $3,750

On April 1, 2010, NHI agreed to pay $3,750 penalties; $2,812.50 to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $ 937.50 to the Peralta Community College District, for violating air quality regulations enforced by the Air Resources Board (ARB).  NHI failed to test, measure, record, and maintain records of smoke emissions from its fleet of heavy duty diesel vehicles for 2008 and 2009 in violation of Title 13, CCR Sections 2190 et seq.  NHI’s Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) compliance strategy is Electric Standby (ES) option for which NHI committed to follow CARB’s policy statement on ES use and record keeping requirements.
