Project Details
The Latino Equity Advocacy and Policy Institute will use the Clean Mobility Options Mobility Project Voucher to expand its Green Raitero rideshare program, adding three electric vehicles, and create a new Green Cruiser program with 30 e-tricycles and 10 smart docking stations, which will be powered by solar energy. The new program will provide new ways to access shopping, medical clinics, attend social and enrichment functions, and for small businesses to make deliveries. Working with the West Hills Community College, the funds will also support workforce development to assist with job training, creating new opportunities for local job growth.

The Latino Equity Advocacy & Policy Institute (The LEAP Institute or LEAP) is a Latino-Valley based environmental justice community institution in Fresno that is leading the implementation of this project. Its mission is to engage San Joaquin Valley communities to increase social justice awareness, strengthen grassroots leadership and empower community members to achieve environmental justice while improving community health. The LEAP Institute created the Green Raiteros program which provides a volunteer ride-share service with cost-effective transportation to underserved farmworker communities.
