Kraft Heinz Foods Company Case Settlement
Kraft Heinz Foods Company Case Settles for $700,000
Kraft Heinz Foods Company (Heinz), of Chicago, Illinois, manufactured and distributed a general purpose cleaner product throughout California that was noncompliant with the volatile organic compound (VOC) limit for that category. During a routine inspection, the investigator found cleaning strength vinegar being offered for sale exclusively as a cleaning product. The product analysis and supplied formulation revealed a VOC concentration above the limit for general purpose cleaners. The excess VOC emissions emitted were 75.2 tons. Heinz made changes to the cleaning product to bring the product into compliance.
