K. Hall Studio, LLC Case Settles for $2,000
On November 13, 2018, a case was settled with K. Hall Studio, LLC (Saint Louis, Missouri) for manufacturing, selling, supplying, and offering for sale a non-compliant personal fragrance in California. Enforcement staff purchased a sample of Apothecary Juniper & Geranium Aroma Therapeutic Cologne that contained concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the 75 percent limit for the Personal Fragrance (20 percent or less fragrance) category specified in title 17 California Code of Regulations section 94509(a). The violation resulted in 0.20 pounds of excess VOC emissions, based upon the formulation and the sales information provided by K. Hall Studio, LLC. K. Hall Studio, LLC has discontinued sales of the Apothecary Juniper & Geranium Aroma Therapeutic Cologne until the product is reformulated.
