JP Transport Case Settles for $54,250
JP Transport will pay $54,250.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $40,687.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $13,563.00 will go to the School Bus Retrofit Project to retrofit school buses throughout California with diesel emission control strategies. This settlement was finally executed on August 1, 2017.
In 2016, Enforcement Division initiated an investigation of JP Transport from the Smart Audit list. The investigation revealed that JP Transport had failed to comply with our diesel rules, including Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP), Emission Control Label (ECL) Regulation, Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation, and Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) Regulation.
ARB documented violations as they related to the PSIP, ECL Regulation TB Regulation and TRU Regulation. To settle the case, JP Transport agreed to the $54,250.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, ECL, TB, TRU, and other ARB programs.
