Hillhouse Naturals Farm Case Settles for $3,000

In September 2018, a case was settled between Hillhouse Naturals Farm (Hillhouse) and California Air Resources Board for the sale of Air Freshener: liquid/pump spray products in California which contained concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the standards specified in title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 94509(a). These products were sold from January 2015 to March 2018 and resulted in 0.02 tons of excess VOC emissions attributable to the violation.  Hillhouse paid $3000 in penalties which represents three days of violation.  To come into compliance, Hillhouse reformulated the Air Freshener: liquid/pump spray products.
