Harvest Meat Company, Inc. Case Settles for $1,125
On March 23, 2011, Harvest Meat Company, Incorporated (HMC) agreed to pay $1,125.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $843.75 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $281.25 to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Community Colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that HMC failed to comply with the Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) rule by submitting false data in the Air Resources Board Equipment Registration (ARBER) system. To settle the case, HMC agreed to the $1,125.00 penalty and to comply with the TRU rule.
