Freedom Performance Exhaust, Inc. Case Settles for $26,250.00

Freedom Performance Exhaust, Inc., a manufacturer of aftermarket performance exhaust systems for highway motorcycles, entered into a mutual settlement with CARB in November 2013. The California-based company was discovered to have sold several exhaust systems in California between April 2012 and April 2013 that did not receive the required exemptions from state anti-tampering laws. The resulting civil penalty of $26,250.00 was applied to 105 part violations at a rate of $250.00 per unit. Freedom Performance Exhaust, Inc. fully cooperated with CARB during its subsequent investigation and is presently working toward compliance with all applicable emission regulations.
