Flitz International, Ltd. Settles For $5,250
In April 2021, the California Air Resources Board and Flitz International, Ltd., of Waterford, Wisconsin, reached a settlement agreement in the amount of $5,250. Flitz International, Ltd. sold, supplied, offered for sale and/or manufactured a General Purpose Cleaner (nonaerosol) product for use in California containing concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the standards specified in title 17, California Code of Regulations (17 CCR), section 94509(a). The VOC violation resulted in 0.26 pounds of excess VOC emissions. Additionally, Flitz International, Ltd. did not submit an explanation of the code on file, as required in 17 CCR section 94512(c). To come into compliance, Flitz International, Ltd. is modifying the product for commerce in California and has changed the product date code to meet regulatory requirements.
