$3,525 in Fines Paid by Finish Line Charter
Finish Line Charter will pay $3,525 in penalties ($2,644 to the California Air Pollution Control Fund (CAPCF) and $881 to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) colleges) for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached in July 2008. An ARB investigation showed that Finish Line Charter failed to properly self-inspect the portion of their diesel-powered vehicle fleet subject to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). Finish Line Charter also failed to comply with the Heavy-Duty Vehicle Inspection Program (HDVIP) and the Emission Control Label (ECL) program. To settle the case, Finish Line Charter agreed to the $3,525 penalty and to comply with PSIP, HDVIP and the ECL program.
