Design Master Color Tool, Inc. Settles For $9,000
In December 2021, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Design Master Color Tool, Inc. (Design Master), with its principal location in Doral, Florida, in the amount of $9,000 for violating CARB’s air quality regulations. The $9,000 will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.
An investigation conducted by CARB staff showed that Design Master sold, supplied, offered for sale, and manufactured for sale in California, an aerosol coating product that exceeded the reactivity limit for floral coating as specified in the Aerosol Coating Products Regulation (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 17 § 94520 et seq.). In addition, the floral coating product did not display the product category and applicable reactivity limit as required by the Aerosol Coating Products Regulation. Two additional regulated aerosol coating products did not display the applicable reactivity limit.
To settle the case, Design Master agreed to the penalty of $9,000 for 3 days of excess reactivity emissions and 6 days of labeling violations. Design Master fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter.
