Casas International Brokerage, INC. Settles for $5,000.00

In September 2019, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) settled a case for $5,000 with Casas International Brokerage, Inc. (Casas), located in Calexico, California. CARB documented violations by Casas for failure to verify that each hired or dispatched vehicle was in compliance with the Truck and Bus Regulation and to comply with the recordkeeping requirements, under California Code of Regulations, title 13, section 2025 (13 CCR § 2025(x)(2)). Casas entered into a settlement agreement with CARB and agreed to pay a total penalty amount of $5,000 for their violations.  In addition, Casas agreed to not operate or direct the operation of any vehicle subject to the Truck and Bus Regulation without obtaining documentation demonstrating that each vehicle hired or dispatched complies with the Truck and Bus Regulation prior to hire.
