Bushnell Holdings, Inc. Case Settlement
Bushnell Holdings, Inc. Case Settles for $29,055
In October 2018, Bushnell Holdings, Inc. of Overland Park, Kansas, settled violations of the Consumer Products Regulation for $29,055.00 and is now compliant. Bushnell Holdings, Inc. sold, supplied, and/or manufactured for sale in California single purpose degreaser products that contained the toxic compound trichloroethylene, which is prohibited for use in single purpose degreasers, effective January 1, 2017. The noncompliant product, Outers Crud Cutter, was obtained during routine inspections by Enforcement Division inspectors. California sales of Crud Cutter and two additional similar products resulted in 1.49 tons of trichloroethylene released into the atmosphere. To come into compliance, Bushnell Holdings, Inc. recalled the noncompliant product from the California marketplace and in the future will only offer compliant products.
