The Bullen Companies Case Settles for $5,000

Between July 2013 and July 2014 The Bullen Companies sold in California their Clausen GTO Solvent Spotter product that contained perchloroethylene in violation of the prohibition against using chlorinated solvents in Spot Removers. In addition, the product did not meet the 15 percent VOC limit for Spot Removers. The company was unaware of the prohibition or the VOC limit on Spot Removers sold in California. The company was able to recall the majority of the product from the California marketplace and committed to the phase out of chlorinated solvents in their consumer products. The case was settled on October 20, 2014 for $5,000.
