Able Freight Services, LLC Settles For $7,000
In June 2021, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) settled a case with Able Freight Services, LLC, located in Los Angeles, California. CARB’s audit documented fourteen violations of the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) for failure to test, measure, record, and maintain records of smoke emissions for heavy-duty diesel vehicles for the year 2019.
Able Freight Services, LLC agreed with the terms of the Settlement Agreement with CARB and agreed to pay for fourteen PSIP violations at $500 each for a total penalty amount of $7,000. Able Freight Services, LLC agreed to enroll in the California Council on Diesel Education Technology’s (CCDET) CCDET I Smoke Test Training course, or the CARB’s Online Smoke Test Training course. Able Freight Services, LLC also agreed to provide records to CARB of PSIP tests for their fleet in the years 2021 and 2022, and to continue PSIP testing and recordkeeping annually thereafter. The fleet is now in compliance with the PSIP regulation.
