$8,000 in Fines Paid by 7-Eleven
In an inspection on July 13, 2005, 7-Eleven was found selling non-complying 1-gallon Midwest portable fuel containers at their South Lake Tahoe store. During the office conference on March 9, 2006, 7-Eleven confirmed that they had sold containers in California due to a sourcing error in their internal distribution system. After several weeks of negotiation with the assistance of the Office of Legal Affairs, 7-Eleven settled the case on May 11, 2006, and paid $8,000.
