Environmental Logistics, Inc. Case Settles for $46,500
In October 2015, Environmental Logistics, Inc., based in Bloomington, CA., agreed to pay $46,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $34,875.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $11,625.00 will go to School Bus Retrofit Project to retrofit school buses throughout California with diesel emission control strategies.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Environmental Logistics, Inc. failed to comply with the Truck and Bus (TB) program rule by neglecting to install legally required emission reduction devices by applicable compliance dates. Further, Environmental Logistics, Inc. failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the TB program and Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, Environmental Logistics, Inc. agreed to the $46,500.00 penalty and to comply with the TB and PSIP programs in addition to other ARB programs.
