El Dorado Demolition, Inc. Case Settles for $2,500
In February 2014, El Dorado Demolition, Inc. agreed to pay a penalty of $2,500.00 for violating air quality regulations: $1,875.00 will be paid to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $625.00 will be paid to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that El Dorado Demolition, Inc. failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards; and failed to timely report all required information for all vehicles in the fleet for which they elected to utilize the compliance options/credits/provisions of the Truck & Bus Regulation. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Truck & Bus Regulation. To settle the case, El Dorado Demolition, Inc. agreed to the $2,500.00 penalty and to comply with the PSIP, Truck & Bus Regulation, and other ARB programs.
