Eiko Kisen Co. Ltd. Case Settles for $5,000

Eiko Kisen Co. Ltd. paid $5,000.00 in penalties to the California Air Resources Board, for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached on January 27, 2014. An investigation by the ARB showed that Eiko Kisen Co. Ltd. vessel Bumbi, failed to operate on compliant distillate fuel upon entry into Regulated California Waters in September of 2013. Eiko Kisen Co. Ltd. took prompt action after being notified of these violations and under ARB’s supervision began operating in a compliant fashion. To settle the case, Eiko Kisen Co. Ltd. agreed to the $5,000.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
