Ebmeyer Charter and Tour, Inc. Case Settles for $3,600
Ebmeyer Charter and Tour, Inc. will pay $3,600.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $2,700.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $900.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in July, 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Ebmeyer Charter and Tour failed to report 10 of their diesel buses according to the phase-in schedule of the Truck and Bus Regulation, and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel buses to assure the buses met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. To settle the case, Ebmeyer Charter and Tour agreed to the $3,600.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB, and other ARB programs.
