Dollar General Corporation and Aiken Chemical Company Case Settles for $3,000

On March 23, 2015, a case was settled with Dollar General Corporation for selling and Aiken Chemical Company for manufacturing, “DG Auto Wheel & Tire Cleaner” subject to the VOC limit for the Tire or Wheel Cleaner: Non-aerosol category, title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 94509(a). The product contained concentrations of VOC’s exceeding the 2 percent by weight VOC limit for the category. Excess emissions in this case were approximately 0.003 tons. The company paid $3,000.00 to settle the case.
