Dia Chemical Co., Ltd. Settles For $3,000
In December 2022, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Dia Chemical Co., Ltd. (Dia), with its principal location in Toyonaka-shi, Osaka, Japan, for the company’s violation of CARB’s air quality regulations.
An investigation conducted by CARB staff found that Dia sold, in California, a consumer product that did not meet regulatory standards specified in the California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94512(c)(1). To settle the case, Dia agreed to a total penalty of $3,000 for selling a consumer product that had no date code explanation filed with CARB.
The $3,000 will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. Dia fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter. To come into compliance, Dia has submitted a date code explanation for this product that is in accordance with California’s air quality regulations.
