$2,000 in Fines Paid by Demert Brands

On April 2, 2007, a case was settled with Demert Brands concerning 184 containers of Gefden Mousse products that were sold in California between March 1, 2005 and June 23, 2005 that did not comply with the 6 percent volatile organic compound (VOC) limit for hair mousse. Demert Brands voluntarily disclosed the violation which occurred after they purchased the product lines from the previous owners, New Concepts for Beauty, Inc. and /or Roberts Research Laboratories. Demert Brands paid $2,000 to settle the case.
