Delta Transport Inc Case Settles for $5,000
In August 2015, Delta Transport Inc. agreed to pay a penalty of $5,000.00 for violating air quality regulations: $3,750.00 will be paid to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,250.00 will be paid to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
A routine investigation by the Enforcement Division documented that Delta Transport Inc. had failed to conduct smoke tests as required by the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program. To resolve its violations, Delta Transport Inc. has agreed to pay $5,000.00 in penalties: $3,750.00 will be paid to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; and $1,250.00 will be paid to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
Delta Transport Inc. is a freight hauling company based out of Rio Linda, California. Delta Transport Inc. does not have a history of past violations and had failed to conduct smoke tests in order to comply with PSIP requirements. It is the responsibility of Delta Transport Inc. to ensure compliance with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program at all times.
