CVS Pharmacy, Inc. and Garcoa Laboratories, Inc. Case Settles for $9,750
On February 10, 2015, a case was settled jointly with Garcoa Inc., for manufacturing and CVS Pharmacy, Inc. for selling a store brand “CVS Pharmacy Skin Purifying Astringent” which exceeded the 35 percent VOC limit for Astringent/Toner category specified in title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 94509(a). There were approximately 0.62 tons of excess emissions. Both CVS and Garcoa admitted to their respective VOC violations and the product manufacturer, Garcoa paid $9,750.00 to settle the case.
