Cosco Maritime (UK) Ltd. Case Settles for $34,500.00

Cosco Maritime (UK) Ltd. has paid $34,500.00 in penalties to the California Air Resources Board, for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached on August 1, 2013. An investigation by the ARB showed that the Cosco Maritime (UK) Ltd. vessel Cosco Antwerp, failed to operate on compliant distillate fuel upon entry into Regulated California Waters a number of times in 2012. Cosco Maritime (UK) Ltd. took prompt action after being notified of these violations and under ARB’s supervision began operating in a compliant fashion. To settle the case, Cosco Maritime (UK) Ltd. agreed to the $34,500.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
