The Conco Companies Case Settles for $7,000
The Conco Companies will pay $7,000 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $3,500 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $3,500 will go to the Placer County Community Based Supplemental Environmental Project to install, and maintain high‐performance air filtration systems in schools within communities most impacted by toxic air contaminants within the Placer County air district. This settlement was finally executed on July 2018.
In 2017, Enforcement Division initiated an investigation with The Conco Companies from the Smart Audit list. The investigation revealed that The Conco Companies failed to properly self-inspect its diesel trucks, as required by Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) as codified in California Code of Regulations, title 13, section 2190 et seq. (13 CCR § 2190 et.seq). CARB documented violations as they related to the PSIP. To settle the case, The Conco Companies agreed to the $7,000 penalty and to comply with PSIP and other CARB programs.
