Colomer U.S.A., Inc. Case Settles for $12,800.00

On June 24, 2013, a case was settled with Colomer USA for selling “ABBA Pure Performance Hair Thermal Protect Spray” subject to the VOC limit for Hair Styling Products: Aerosol and Pump Sprays, subject to the title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 94509(a). The product contained concentrations of VOC’s exceeding the 6 percent by weight VOC limit. This product and the product “American Crew Fiber” were also in violation to the product dating provisions of the regulation. There were approximately 0.73 tons of excess emissions and the company paid $12,800 to settle the case.
