About the Clean Transportation and Equitable Mobility Community Tours
The Clean Transportation and Equitable Mobility Community Tours help shape our Clean Transportation Incentive Programs. Through these tours, CARB staff and program administrators hear directly from community members and see local transportation needs firsthand.
Community‑based organizations (CBOs) that serve priority populations help us plan these tours. We work with them because they help us build trust with the community, strengthen their own ability to support residents, and make sure we hear real concerns directly from community members, not from groups that usually have more power.
In addition to providing meaningful opportunities to understand community-scale transportation barriers and challenges, the tours also help surface practical opportunities and improve current programs to better meet community needs.
Tour goals:
Visit communities disproportionately affected by pollution, climate change, and financial burdens and learn about their priorities, including clean transportation needs and barriers.
Help CARB staff shape policies that better reflect community-identified needs – including those in smaller, rural, and tribal areas.
Inform the Annual Funding Plan process by adding direct community input into program design, project development, and decisions on Clean Transportation Incentive funds.
Build trust and strengthen relationships through meaningful dialogue among community-based groups, local leaders, and partner organizations.
