Clawson Trucking Co., LLC Case Settles for $41,575
Clawson Trucking Co., LLC will pay $41,575.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $31,181.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $10,394.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Clawson Trucking Co., LLC failed to bring their heavy-duty diesel vehicles fleet in compliance with the PM BACT requirements and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. Clawson Trucking Co., LLC also failed to provide the evidence that its heavy-duty diesel vehicles have Emission Control Labels (ECL) attached to the engines. ARB documented violations as they related to the Statewide Truck and Bus (STB) regulation, Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the ECL program. To settle the case, Clawson Trucking Co., LLC agreed to the $41,575.00 penalty and to comply with the STB regulation, the PSIP and the ECL program.
