Claire's Stores, Inc. Case Settles for $5,100

On November 21, 2014, a Consumer Products case, CP14-04-04, was settled with Claire’s Stores, Inc. for importing and selling a non-compliant store-brand nail polish remover product between July 2010 and March 2014. This product, Icing Nourishing Nail Polish Remover, exceeded the 1% VOC limit for “Nail Polish Remover” category and resulted in 0.26 tons excess Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) emissions. Claire’s Stores paid $5,100 to settle this case.
