China Shipping Container Lines Co., Ltd. Case Settles for $35,719

China Shipping Container Lines Co., Ltd. has paid $35,719.00 in penalties to the Air Resources Board for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached on June 18, 2014. An investigation by the ARB showed that the China Shipping Container Lines Co., Ltd. vessel, Xin Mei Zhou, failed to operate on compliant distillate fuel upon entry into Regulated California Waters. China Shipping Container Lines Co., Ltd. took prompt action after being notified of these violations and under ARB’s supervision began operating in a compliant fashion. To settle the case, China Shipping Container Lines Co., Ltd. agreed to the $35,719.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
