Byzantine Maritime Corporation Case Settles for $27,750.00
Byzantine Maritime Corporation has paid $27,750.00 in penalties to the Air Resources Board for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached on November 12, 2013. An investigation by the ARB showed that the Byzantine Maritime Corporation vessel, Ermione, failed to operate on compliant distillate fuel upon entry into Regulated California Waters. Byzantine Maritime Corporation took prompt action after being notified of these violations and under ARB’s supervision began operating in a compliant fashion. To settle the case, Byzantine Maritime Corporation agreed to the $27,750.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
