Brookside Import Specialties Case Settled - $2,500

Samples of non-compliant P21S Windshield Wipes were obtained on June 6, 2003.  Laboratory testing showed the product to be approximately 24% VOC which exceeded the 6% VOC limit for glass cleaners.  An office conference was held on December 21, 2004 with Brookside Import Specialties to discuss the company's importation of the non-complaint glass cleaner and the subsequent sales in California.  The case was settled on January 12, 2005 for a payment of $2,500.  Because the product also exceeded the national VOC limit, Brookside Import Specialties suspended sales of the product in the entire country and has ceased importation.
