Bridgewater LLC. Case Settles for $34,500

On August 25, 2017 a Consumer Products case was settled with Bridgewater LLC. for selling, supplying, and offering for sale “Solvent Clean”, a spot remover, between the dates of January 1, 2015 to March 22, 2017.  This product exceeded the 3% Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) limit in the Spot Remover; non aerosol category as specified in CCR title 17, section 94509 (a).  The final penalty calculation was based on product formulation and sales data provided by Bridgewater.   In this case, the total penalty was $34,500, and resulted in 2.30 tons of excess VOC emissions.  The product is now in compliance and no longer for sale in California as a Spot Remover.
