Bridgeport Transportation and Warehousing Inc. Case Settles for $10,875
Bridgeport Transportation and Warehousing Inc. will pay $10,875.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $8,156.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $2,719.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in July 5, 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Bridgeport Transportation and Warehousing Inc. failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to ensure the trucks met state smoke emission standards and failed to include the Disclosure of Regulation Applicability on the bill of sales, contract addendums, or invoices, in violation of the Truck and Bus Regulation ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. To settle the case, Bridgeport Transportation and Warehousing Inc. agreed to the $10,875.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB, and other ARB programs.
