BP West Coast Products LLC Case Settles for $40,000

In November 2011, BP paid $40,000 in penalties for the sale, offer for sale, supply, or offer for supply of premium grade CARBOB in violation of California reformulated gasoline regulations. Between October 5, 2008 and October 11, 2008, BP Carson refinery supplied 73,508 barrels of premium grade CARBOB to commerce. The predictive model notification for this CARBOB, batch number 080597, was submitted to ARB on November 3, 2008 after the start of physical transfer and in violation of California Code of Regulations, title 13, sections 2265 and 2265.5. Analysis of a sample, representative of batch 080597, indicated compliance with the predictive model specifications.
