SB 905 Community Listening Sessions: Carbon Capture, Removal, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS): On Sep. 8 via remote access, CARB will participate in the ongoing series of public listening sessions focused on California’s SB 905 CCUS Program. These sessions will feature an open house with staff from multiple state agencies including the Department of Conservation, the Natural Resources Agency, and Water Boards to discuss carbon capture, removal, utilization, and storage. These meetings will provide: (1) Accessible materials explaining CCUS, (2) Presentations from participating agencies, and (3) An opportunity for the public to provide feedback and engage in discussion.

Corporate GHG Reporting Listening Session 6: On Sep. 9 via remote access, CARB will host a stakeholder listening session as part of the Corporate Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program authorized under SB 253 and SB 219. These sessions continue CARB’s series of topic‑specific engagements aimed at gathering input on regulatory concepts. This session will focus on reporting methodologies and data assurance considerations from companies involved in banking, insurance, asset management, investment, fintech, credit union services, asset management and private equity, capital markets, and non-bank financial institutions. Development of this program is intended to establish reporting requirements for Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions beginning in 2027, along with CARB’s proposed long-term plan for Scope 3 reporting.
