Board Meeting: On Oct. 22 via remote access and in Sacramento, the Board will convene to hear the agenda item titled, “Informational Update on the California Corporate Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program.” The Board will hear an informational update that includes external experts on considerations for further developing the California Corporate Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program under Senate Bill 253 (Wiener, Stats. 2023, Ch. 382) The initial regulation for this program set first-year requirements for certain business entities that do business in California to disclose their Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions. Staff are currently developing concepts for a future regulation that would build upon the first-year report and include Scope 3 emissions. The program aims to support transparency and help inform consumer and investor decisions.
