Public Meeting to Discuss Top Research Priorities for Fiscal Year 2025-26: On November 18 and November 20 via remote access, CARB will host two public meetings to discuss Fiscal Year 2025-26 research priorities and the proposed research initiatives for the 5-Year Strategic Research Plan. Two meeting options are being offered in order to accommodate a wider audience; the same agenda and material will be presented at both meetings. CARB holds annual public virtual meetings to discuss top research priorities under consideration for funding in each fiscal year. At these meetings, CARB staff will solicit feedback and summarize CARB’s submissions from the public call for research concepts and comments. The material presented will be available on the Research Comment Portal page. A poll asking for public feedback on each individual project will also be available to fill out before the meeting but will be closed afterward. The Legislature created the Board’s research program in 1971 to support CARB’s goals by providing the scientific foundation for effective air pollution control. The research program encompasses all aspects of air pollution and plays an important role in meeting the challenges of increasingly stringent federal air quality standards and long-term climate goals. Research program priorities are also responsive to emerging topics, public input, advancing air measurement techniques, and improving health outcomes. Each year, CARB funds 10-to-12 cutting-edge research projects that support CARB’s mission.
One-Stop Truck Event, Imperial: On November 20 in Imperial, CARB will host a One-Stop Truck Event as part of its multi-stop, roadshow throughout California. This is a free informational event for medium- and heavy-duty vehicle owners, operators, fleets, and motorhomes. CARB staff, along with local agencies and air districts will provide insight, education, and resources on CARB’s clean truck and diesel regulations, compliance, funding, and other information. Attendees will have the opportunity to listen to presentations, participate in one-on-one discussions and meet CARB regulatory experts and incentive-program staff. More information can be found on the One-Stop Truck Events webpage.
Board Meeting: On November 21 in Sacramento and via webcast, the Board will hear the following agenda item: the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Funding Plan for Clean Transportation Incentives.
