Drive Forward Westmorland Community Listening Session: On May 18 in Westmorland, CARB is participating in a Community Listening Session, held in partnership with Los Amigos De La Comunidad during the Imperial County Air Pollution Control District’s AB 617 North End Meeting. This in-person meeting aims to gather community input on potential clean vehicle regulations, programs, and incentives as part of the Drive Forward initiative. Attendees will hear from CARB staff about proposed regulatory concepts for light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles, learn about funding opportunities, and contribute ideas to help shape future clean vehicle policies that support California’s air quality and climate goals.
Research Seminar: Understanding Sources & Formation Regimes of PM₂.₅: On May 19 via virtual attendance, CARB’s Research Division will host a seminar titled “Understanding the Sources and Formation Regimes of Present‑Day PM₂.₅ to Mitigate Particulate Pollution in California.” The seminar will present findings including: (1) Results from four distinct four‑week field studies in regions with elevated PM₂.₅, (2) High‑resolution speciated measurements of particulate matter and related gases, (3) Source apportionment of local and regional PM₂.₅ contributors, (4) Analysis of PM₂.₅ formation sensitivity to changes in NOₓ and VOC emissions, and (5) Implications for State Implementation Plan strategies addressing PM₂.₅ and ozone.
Evening Community Meeting: Clean Transportation Incentives: On May 19 via virtual attendance, CARB will host one of its monthly evening community meetings to provide updates on Clean Transportation Incentives. The meeting will include: (1) Discussion of updates about incentive project funding and implementation for zero‑emission transportation and mobility projects, (2) An overview of how these projects contribute to improving air quality and reducing climate change impacts, and (3) An opportunity for community members to ask questions, provide suggestions, and offer input on their clean transportation needs.
Drive Forward Valley Vision Community Listening Session: On May 20 in Sacramento, CARB is participating in a Community Listening Session, held in partnership with Valley Vision. This in-person meeting aims to gather community input on potential clean vehicle regulations, programs, and incentives as part of the Drive Forward initiative. The session will include: (1) Presentations by CARB staff about potential light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicle regulations, (2) Opportunities for community members to share their thoughts, ideas, and experiences, and (3) Discussion of how community feedback will inform the next phase of clean vehicle standards and incentive programs.
