Evening Community Meeting on Transportation Fuels Transition Plan: On February 4 in Bakersfield, and on February 5 in Wilmington, CARB, along with the California Energy Commission (CEC), will host community meetings to discuss how the State can create a reliable, safe, equitable, and affordable transition away from petroleum fuels. These will be the second and third meetings of a series; the first meeting was scheduled for January 29 in Richmond. The public will have the opportunity to provide feedback, which will help to inform a Transportation Fuels Transition Plan that CARB and CEC are preparing pursuant to Senate Bill (SB) X1-2. The plan is meant to reflect and represent a wide range of community insights and concerns. Spanish language interpretation services will be provided. More information can be found in the fliers for the Bakersfield meeting and the Wilmington meeting.
Sierra-Cascade Logging Conference: On February 6-8 in Anderson, CARB will host a booth at the Sierra-Cascade Logging Conference, the largest forest products and construction equipment exposition in the West. The public will have the opportunity to speak with CARB staff and ask questions. Manufacturers and dealers will also be present to display and demonstrate equipment, tools, and supplies relating to forest management and construction. The conference provides an opportunity for the exchange of ideas among members in the forest management and associated fields all the while promoting the art, practice, and standards of responsible logging and forestry.
