Roundtables to Incorporate Environmental Justice into Research Priorities: On August 26 in Niland, August 27 in Santa Ana, and August 29 via remote access, CARB will host roundtable meetings to collaborate with communities on how best to incorporate environmental justice into future research on air quality, climate change, health, and sustainability. Staff will ask community members to share their research needs and priorities in small group discussions. Outcomes from each meeting will help shape potential research projects for CARB’s 5-Year Strategic Research Plan. The meeting in Niland will be co-hosted by United for Justice, and the meeting in Santa Ana will be co-hosted by Orange County Environmental Justice. Roundtable meetings with the same focus will also be held in September.
Western Truck Center Lunch and Learn Event: On August 27 in Sacramento, CARB staff will be available to answer questions at a Lunch and Learn event hosted by Western Truck Center. The event will feature information on the latest Volvo, Peterbilt, Mack, and Battle Motors electric trucks, and will inform public and private fleet operators and managers on how to transition to alternative-fuel vehicles. CARB staff will provide attendees with information on vehicle and infrastructure incentives, energy, and regulations, including the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation.
Public Workshop on Proposed Updates to Program Guidelines: On August 28 in Sacramento, CARB will host a public workshop to discuss proposed updates to the Carl Moyer Memorial Air Quality Standards Attainment Program Guidelines and the Funding Agricultural Replacement Measures for Emissions Reductions (FARMER) Program Guidelines. Staff will provide an overview of the proposed changes, which aim to align the guidelines with recent legislative and regulatory updates developed in partnership with CARB and California’s air districts. CARB staff will consider public comment surrounding the proposed amendments before final adoption. The proposed updates will be presented for consideration at the October 24, 2024, Board meeting and can be found on the meetings and workshop pages of the Carl Moyer Program and the FARMER Program.
Workshop for Fiscal Year 2024-25 Draft Funding Plan for Clean Transportation Incentives: On August 29 via remote access, CARB will host a public workshop to discuss the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-25 Draft Funding Plan for Clean Transportation Incentives. The Draft FY 2024-25 Funding Plan will describe CARB’s proposed investments from the Air Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) funds. CARB staff will present information on the program-level appropriations included in the State budget. A total of $34.94 million has been appropriated to the FY 2024-25 Funding Plan for Clean Transportation Incentives. Outreach Truck Regulation Implementation Group Meeting: On August 29 via remote access, CARB will host the eighth public meeting session of the Truck Regulation Implementation Group (TRIG) to discuss outreach. At TRIG meetings, CARB staff offer information on the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation. The public will have the opportunity to make comments and ask questions at the end of the meeting as time permits. More information can be found on the Advanced Clean Fleets Meetings & Events page.
