Betco Corporation Settles For $6,000

In May 2021, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Betco Corporation (Betco), of Bowling Green, Ohio, reached a settlement agreement in the amount of $6,000. Betco sold, supplied, offered for sale and/or manufactured a Bathroom and Tile Cleaner (nonaerosol) product for use in California containing a concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the standards specified in title 17, California Code of Regulations (17 CCR), section 94509(a). The VOC violation resulted in 0.001 tons of excess VOC emissions. Betco also used a unique date of manufacture code on a product without providing CARB with an annual date of manufacture code explanation letter. Betco stopped sales of the noncompliant product in California and submitted an updated date of manufacture code explanation letter to CARB
