Bay Line Tool and Equipment Case Settles for $1,200
In January 2015, Bay Line Tool and Equipment paid $1,200.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $900.00 went to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $300.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Bay Line Tool and Equipment failed to comply with the Verification Procedure, the Aftermarket Parts Regulations and the California Vehicle Code section 27156 by selling and offering for sale a used verified diesel emission control strategy. ARB documented violations as they related to the Verification Procedure, the Aftermarket Parts Regulations and the California Vehicle Code section 27156. To settle the case, Bay Line Tool and Equipment agreed to the $1,200.00 penalty and to comply with the Verification Procedure, the Aftermarket Parts Regulations and the California Vehicle Code section 27156.
