Streamlined ZEV Purchase Exemption List

Last updated: January 30, 2025

The Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) regulation is currently not being enforced pursuant to this enforcement notice. Fleets that want to voluntarily comply with the ACF regulation may use this page to help them comply.

Fleet owners may apply for or use a ZEV Purchase Exemption if eligible as described in this fact sheet. This is a list of general vehicle weight class and configurations of medium- and heavy-duty vehicles powered by new internal combustion engines (ICE) that fleets can purchase without requesting and submitting a zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) Purchase Exemption application. This list identifies vehicle configurations where no zero-emission vehicles or near-zero emissions vehicles (NZEV) are available for purchase in the identified general weight class and configuration categories.

This list will be updated as new information becomes available. If a listed configuration and weight class subsequently becomes available to purchase as a ZEV from any manufacturer, that configuration will be removed from the updated list. If a listed configuration and weight class are no longer available for purchase or no longer meet the criteria to be considered available to purchase as a ZEV listed in sections 2015.3(e)(2)(D) and 2013.1(d)(2)(D), the list will be updated with the configuration and weight class identified.

Fleet owners can still submit a ZEV Purchase Exemption application if a needed configuration is not on the list.

Manufacturers, upfitters, or dealers that have ZEVs or NZEVs available to purchase that meet the regulation criteria may submit that information to ZEVfleet@arb.ca.gov for consideration.
