APL Co Pte Ltd. Case Settles for $2,000

APL Co Pte Ltd has paid $2,000.00 in penalties to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached on March 22, 2011. An investigation by the ARB showed that the APL Co Pte Ltd vessel, APL Sardonyx, failed to properly complete switchover for its engines from Heavy Fuel Oil over to Low-Sulfur Distillate Fuel before entry into Regulated California Waters. To settle the case, APL Co Pte Ltd agreed to the $2,000.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
